RAINY PICKENS FLEA MARKET TRIP

An early alarm sounded and woke hubbie and I to the sound of pouring rain. Hubbie took today off to make a trip with daughter to the Pickens flea market today. We looked at each other and sighed as we were hoping for a just cloudy day like yesterday.
We got up and watched the radar on TV and it showed the rain moving but slowly. Daughter arrived and wanted to go on because this is her only opportunity to go down there without having to take a day off work.
I did the chores to the questioning looks of all the animals as to why I was there this early in the rain??
We headed down the mountain and thankfully the rain got lighter as we drove. There was very little traffic so we made the 45 minute trip easily.
There was a surprising amount of vendors there but they have a lot of covered spots.
It seemed funny to have rain gear on at the flea market but these rain boots came in very handy with all the standing water.

There were no vendors out in the open spaces but we found our deals on coffee pods and bread and found some watermelons and strawberries at good prices. We bought several smaller things but nothing big. Daughter went looking for mirror but struck out on that.

We left the market and had an early lunch at Arbys on the way back up the mountain.
We got back home at 1:30 and unloaded then daughter left to go home and rest.
Hubbie and I decided to tackle the installation of the new dish washer. It took us longer than it used too, haha , but we got it in and it works when we turned it on.

We did chores and as I checked the rain gauge after the misty rainy day it had 1/2 inch of rain for the overnight and day in it.
I heard peeps from the white Silkie that is setting on all green eggs and when I peeked under her she had several chicks that had already hatched and more hatching.

She has luckily been able to keep her eggs warm enough to get a good hatch it looks like.
I will never get tired of seeing these little black eyed babies peeking out from under mom's feathers.
This rainfall has really made the garden vegetables jump up.

Back inside we straightened out the kitchen and I did weekly paperwork and paid bills for the week.
We watched survivor then hubbie went to bed and I got things ready for market.
Thankful for safe travels this morning and for all the blessings of this day with His love to look forward too each day I stand amazed in the Glory of being a child of God.
God Bless and Good Night.
